Lately I have been listening to Lana Del Rey’s 4 albums on a regular and noticed that Elijah is roughly based on her songs. The M/V for ‘Ride’ is the embodiment of her core. It is uncanny when you realize how art reflects upon one self. How my love for Lana’s music and glamour has translated in my own art and frankly I must admit that I am relieved, a mystery such as Lana is just the perfect muse to build a character upon. Her music transcends beautifully on my Elijah and I could not be more thankful. Of course there is the ethereal grandeur that Florence Welch bestows on this one of a kind character especially songs like ‘Shake it out’s and ‘What the Water Gave me’ have lift a pungent mark on her personality and attributes. Thus, if looking to understand Elijah before following her alongt the shores of her journey you could just listen to these two marvelous women and communicate further with her.
There are also other contributors in the development of the person that is Elijah but they are, for now, considered as draft-like-personality-traits than anything really. I do not want to diminish of their importance but for now the basis of Elijah is the music of Lana and Florence and you could see that, onward, from her drama-filled persona and her yearning of freedom. Two of which are inseparable and core characteristics of her own-self.
