The birth of a character in its upbringing is the toughest aspects of an author’s work. For me the best way to create a character is to dive head-on on what makes it unique in my book, how it handles the pressure written ahead of time for it, and what it teaches the readers alongside every line they read. Elijah is a fetus of an idea of a character that I have built yet never seem to make her fully bloom into a concrete realistic persona that could be relatable, lovable, intriguing, and nefarious in her own rights. I have scribbled various versions of her yet my lack of understanding of a woman’s life is what holds several barriers upfront in me stream of thoughts. That is why I decided to take on her spirit form and write as her and of her in this blog which serves as a grave for her thoughts, her passions, her desires, and her inner jewel. You, reader of the blog, can help me shape her into a more fascinating person as well as see her grow right in front of your own eyes. She might be an idea but she is a thoughtful idea; in my mind she lays trapped thinking, gasping, wondering, writing, loving, crying… All the reason why I need to set her free to be her own entity and be the woman she is meant to be. Today I have created a Pinterest and Twitter account for her in order for her to speak through these platforms and for me to understand her a bit more. Be sure to check them and help her along the way, she is relatively new to our world as she is deeply embedded in the book she is meant to star in.
